Learn how the Harmonized Sales Tax (“HST”) rules will impact your firm

This HST seminar will provide attendees with key specifics and examples of the new legislation relevant to the Architects, Engineers and Designers (“AED”) industry.  Presented by specialists from the AED industry group at Shimmerman Penn LLP, chartered accountants and business advisors, the topics will include, amongst others:

  • How to deal with billings for work done before/after July 1, 2010 for progress billings on Fixed Fee Contracts and Cost Plus Contracts.
  • How to deal with holdbacks receivable and payable for work done before/after July 1, 2010
  • How to deal with clients outside of Ontario
  • Restrictions on claiming input tax credits
  • How HST will impact your clients (HST is not a flow-through for everyone)
  • Transitional PST issues for new housing

There will be ample time for Q&A. We would also welcome any questions you have in advance to ensure your specific concerns are addressed at the seminar. You can email questions to: Elaine Pantel – epantel@spllp.com

This seminar is eligible for OAA and ARIDO self-directed continuing education points
